To complete the work you will need:
- special wrench for fittings of brake pipes;
- reliable stand for the car.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work («Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the wheel («Wheel - replacement»).
3. If the car is equipped with brake pad wear sensors, disconnect the sensor wire tip from the wiring harness block.
4. Remove the brake hose from the bracket on the suspension strut.
5. We clean the tips of the brake hose from dirt and treat the fitting of the brake pipe with a penetrating lubricant.
Warning! When performing the following operation, make sure that when unscrewing the fitting, the tube does not rotate with it. If the tube «sour» in the fitting, replace it.
6. Holding the upper tip of the brake hose from turning with a 15 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the brake pipe fitting with a special key.
7. So that the brake fluid does not flow out of the system, we put on the end of the tube a protective cap for the bleeder of the working brake cylinder.
8. With a 15 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the lower tip of the brake hose.
The connection of the hose to the working cylinder is sealed with a copper ring, which cannot be reused.
Installation
1. We put a new sealing ring on the lower tip of the hose, wrap the tip into the hole in the brake cylinder housing and tighten it.
2. We wrap the fitting of the brake pipe into the upper tip of the brake hose and tighten it, preventing the hose from twisting. The absence of twisting of the brake hose is determined by the colored strip applied to it.
3. Install the hose in the suspension strut bracket.
Bleeding the brake system («Hydraulic brake drive - pumping») and make sure the connections of the tips of the new brake hose are tight.
