The location and purpose of the switches installed in the instrument panel and in the floor tunnel lining is shown in chapter «Controls and instrumentation». Depending on the configuration, some cars have switches for heating the front seats installed in the lining of the floor tunnel.
The reversing light switch is located in the gearbox housing next to the starter. When reverse gear is engaged, the switch contacts are closed, supplying voltage to the corresponding lamps in the rear lights. Depending on the configuration, interior lighting dome switches are installed in the body pillars. The switches also serve as open door sensors.
The brake light switch is located under the instrument panel on the brake pedal bracket.
