Family cars «Granta» Supplied with two ignition switches (see section «Keys»).
One key ignition switch with a black mark on the end or with a remote control (in a variant) - working key. It serves to remove the prohibition of starting the engine. This key is recommended for everyday driving.
The second key of the ignition switch with a red label on the end is a learning key. It serves to remove the prohibition of starting the engine, as well as to activate (training, retraining) immobilizer and (in a variant) lock remote control systems (unlocking) doors.
It is possible to train and operate the immobilizer with the number of one to four working keys.
Attention! Selling a car equipped with an immobilizer without its activation is not allowed. The procedure for activating the immobilizer must be carried out at the points of pre-sale preparation of cars or at certified SSSS, always in the presence of the car owner, in case the owner refuses to perform this procedure, this should be recorded in the service book with the signature of the sales dealer, the seal of the company and the certifying signature of the owner.
Due to the importance of the learning key, it is not recommended to use a red mark ignition key for everyday driving. It must be stored in a safe place. If the learning key is lost, warranty obligations for the immobilizer, engine control controller, driver's door module (in a variant) not accepted.
It is not allowed to install alarms, security and other additional electrical and electronic devices by cutting and twisting wires (without using stock pads) or bypassing the standard door lock control unit. For failure of the door lock gearmotor, gearmotor control unit, body electronics central unit (in a variant) due to improper connection of additional devices, the factory warranty does not apply.
The immobilizer has an signaling device and a sound signaling device (buzzer) in the instrument cluster.
The signaling device displays the state of the immobilizer:
- if, after turning on the ignition, the signaling device does not light up and does not blink, then the immobilizer is in good condition, the engine start is allowed;
- if, after turning on the ignition, the indicator lights up, burns for about 15 seconds and goes out, then the immobilizer is not activated, the engine start inhibit mode does not work, you should contact a certified PSSS to activate the immobilizer;
- If after turning on the ignition, the indicator flashes, then the immobilizer is faulty. An immobilizer malfunction is additionally diagnosed by short beeps of the buzzer. You should contact a certified SSSS for troubleshooting.
Attention! To ensure stable reading of the ignition switch key code by the immobilizer, it is not allowed to mount two or more ignition switch keys on one ring.
Turning off the ignition with the learning key causes the immobilizer indicator to flash, which is not a sign of a malfunction.
