It is recommended to start driving the car at a negative ambient temperature no earlier than 30 seconds after starting the engine. To ensure partial warming up of the oil in the gearbox, it is necessary that the engine idle for some time with the clutch pedal released. If you do not have such an opportunity and you warm up the engine and gearbox while driving, then after a long parking at low ambient temperature, it is recommended to move for some time in lower gears with a low engine speed. As the oil in the gearbox warms up, successively shift to higher gears.
Attention! To avoid damage to the shift mechanism inside the gearbox due to congealed oil, do not apply excessive force to the shift lever or strike (sharp) gear engagement.
Driving a front-wheel drive car is slightly different from driving a rear-wheel drive car, especially when cornering. When approaching a turn, it is necessary to evaluate it in advance and, depending on the turning radius and road surface condition, reduce speed, drive the turn in the mode «tightness», by gradually increasing the engine speed. This makes it possible to drive steadily even in slippery areas, avoid sudden braking or sudden release of the accelerator pedal in a turn, which can lead to loss of traction and, consequently, loss of control over the vehicle.
If possible, drive the car without sudden accelerations and decelerations, as this leads to increased tire wear and increased fuel consumption. Fuel consumption also increases with insufficient air pressure in tires, with worn or dirty spark plugs, and with engine oils with a higher viscosity than recommended.
Attention! A sharp start, including with the handbrake on, a U-turn with slipping of the front wheels at maximum engine speed is not allowed!
Fuel consumption also increases when towing a trailer. In addition, when towing a trailer, the load on the body, engine and transmission increases, which reduces their resource.
While driving, monitor the operation of various systems using the appropriate instruments and signaling devices. Under normal conditions, the red light signaling devices should not burn - their inclusion signals the need to check the corresponding system on a certified SSSS.
When driving through puddles, slow down to avoid hydroplaning, which can cause skidding or loss of control. Worn tires increase this risk.
Attention! To avoid damage to the engine caused by water entering its cylinders through the air intake, it is not allowed to overcome accumulations of water more than 300 mm deep. Driving through relatively deep pools of water should be done at the lowest possible speed to avoid wave formation that could flood the engine air intake.
After overcoming puddles, as well as after washing the car or when driving for a long time on wet roads, when water gets into the brake mechanisms of the wheels, make several smooth braking while driving to dry the discs, drums and brake linings.
Warning! Pay special attention and caution in the first minutes after the start of rain, as moistened dust forms a slippery film on the road surface, which sharply reduces the grip of tires on the road.
Attention! After overcoming fords or deep puddles and if you intend to park the car for a long time, it is necessary to provide a short mileage of the car to dry the components in order to prevent corrosion damage to the clutch release clutch bearing and front and rear wheel hub bearings.
When overtaking in rainy weather, turn on the windshield wiper to the maximum mode - this will help to avoid loss of visibility due to the possible release of water from under the wheels of the vehicle being overtaken. It is advisable to apply such precautions even if you are overtaken.
Do not overtake in rainy weather if the water cloud from under the wheels of the vehicle in front completely blocks the view of the overtaking zone.
In order not to move in the water plume from the vehicles in front, increase the distance and reduce the speed of movement.
When driving along sidewalks during or after rain, when driving through puddles, slow down so that spray from under the wheels of your car does not fall on pedestrians.
