Brake fluid level in reservoir 3 (pic. 49), installed on the main brake cylinder, check visually by the marks on the tank body, made of translucent plastic. With cover 2 removed with emergency brake fluid level sensor 1 and new brake pads, the brake fluid level should be at the MAX mark. After installing cover 2 with sensor 1, the brake fluid level should be at the lower edge of the reservoir filler neck.
If the hydraulic brake drive is in good order, the lowering of the fluid level in the reservoir is due to the wear of the linings of the brake pads. Lowering the liquid level to the MIN·mark indirectly indicates their ultimate wear. In this case, it is necessary to check the condition of the linings, and there is no need to add brake fluid to the reservoir, since when installing new pads, the fluid level in the reservoir will rise to normal.
signaling device «brake failure» lights up when the brake fluid level in the reservoir drops below the MIN·mark, which, with partially worn or new brake pad linings, indicates a loss of system tightness and fluid leakage. Topping up liquid (see annex 1) in this case, carry out only after restoring the tightness of the system on a certified PSSS.
When checking the level of brake fluid in the reservoir, do not forget to also check the correct operation of the emergency brake fluid level sensor, for which press the central part of the protective cap of the sensor 1 from above - when the ignition is on, the indicator should light up in the instrument cluster «brake failure» red light.
