Removing
1. Remove the camshaft («Camshaft - removal and installation»).
2. Using a magnet, we remove the pushers with shims from the seats in the cylinder head.
3. To install the pushers in their original places, we mark them or lay them out in the order in which they are located in the engine.
4. We turn out the candle of the cylinder, at the valve of which we replace the valve stem seal («Spark plugs - replacement»).
5. We insert a tin rod into the candle hole so that its end is under the plate of the corresponding valve.
6. We install a valve cracking tool on the cylinder head studs.
7. We rest the fixture cup on the spring plate.
Warning! When performing the following operation, do not scratch the walls of the pusher mounting hole in the cylinder head with a cracker.
8. By pressing on the handle of the cracker, we compress the valve springs.
9. Keeping the springs compressed, remove with tweezers! two crackers.
10. Slowly release the springs and remove the cracker.
11. Remove the spring plate with tweezers.
12. We take out the outer...
...and an internal valve spring.
13. Install the grip of the puller on the valve stem seal.
14. Press the cap.
15. If necessary, remove the spring washer.
Installation
1. Install the spring washer (if it was removed).
2. We apply clean engine oil to the working edge of the new cap and the valve stem.
3. We put a special plastic mandrel on the valve stem (supplied with new caps) So. so that it closes the grooves on the rod.
4. Put the cap on the valve stem.
Comment. In the absence of a mandrel, the cap should be put on very carefully so as not to cut the edge on the sharp, gentle grooves. Before installation, the spring can be removed from the cap.
5. With light hammer blows on the mandrel, press the cap onto the valve sleeve.
Advice. To press the cap, you can use a socket wrench with a deep 11 mm hex head or a 12 mm hex head.
6. Remove the plastic mandrel.
7. Install the springs, spring plate and crackers in the reverse order of removal.
8. Similarly, we replace the valve stem seals of the remaining valves of the first and fourth cylinders (their pistons are at TDC), after which we turn the engine crankshaft 180°and replace the valve caps of the second and third cylinders.
9. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
