1. Raise and place the front of the vehicle on stands. Remove the wheel from the car.
2. Apply WD-40 to the threaded connections of the front suspension arm.
3. Unscrew the nut securing the brace to the front suspension arm, holding the brace with a key so that it does not rotate in the silent blocks (rubber-metal hinges).
4. Remove the special washer.
5. Turn away a nut of fastening of a stabilizer link to the front suspension arm, holding a bolt from turning, and take out a bolt.
6. Press the ball joint pin out of the front suspension arm (see «Ball joint replacement»).
7. Turn away a nut of fastening of the lever of a forward suspension bracket, keeping a bolt from turning; remove the spring washer and remove the bolt.
8. Remove the end of the front suspension arm from the bracket on the body and remove the front suspension arm from the brace.
9. Remove the special washer 1 and the package of shims 2 from the brace, counting their number (if they are installed). Mark the washers to later install them on the same side of the front suspension arm.
10. Signs of wear on silent blocks (rubber-metal joints) of the front suspension arm are ruptures and one-sided bulging of rubber, delamination of rubber from a metal bushing.
To replace silent blocks (rubber-metal joints) The front suspension arm requires special tools and certain skills. We recommend two options: either replace the front suspension arm assembly with joints, or, after removing the front suspension arm from the vehicle, have the joints replaced in a specialized car workshop.
11. Install a new front suspension arm on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal. Set the adjusting washers in the same quantity, the chamfers on their inner diameters should be directed towards the stop collar of the brace. Finally tighten the suspension bolts with the vehicle on the ground. After lowering the car to the ground, rock it hard several times. Tighten the nuts securing the ball joint to the front suspension arm and the arm to the body bracket to a torque of 80-96 Nm (8.0-9.6 kgf·m), a nut for fastening the extension to the front suspension arm with a torque of 160-180 Nm (16.0-18.0 kgf·m), the nut of the anti-roll bar to the front suspension arm - 42-52 Nm (4.2-5.2 kgf·m). After a run of 100 km, re-tighten these threaded connections to the required torque.
