Design features, description and starter device

Starter 2110-3708010 is installed on cars (5702.3708) or starter from Bosch 0 001 108 203, similar in terms of installation dimensions and technical characteristics. The parts of these starters are not interchangeable.

The starter switching circuit is shown in fig. 9.3.

Consumed current at idle, A — 80 Starter type 5702.3708 (pic. 9.4) - DC electric motor with excitation from permanent magnets, with planetary gear and electromagnetic two-winding traction relay.

Covers 11, 27 and housing 29 of the stator are pulled together with two pins. The armature shaft 25 rotates in two ceramic-metal inserts installed in the cover 27 and support 32. Four permanent magnets 30 are fixed in the stator housing.

The rotation from the armature shaft 25 is transmitted to the drive shaft 1 through a planetary gear, which consists of a central gear 34, three planetary gears 33, a carrier 35 and an internal gear 36. Planetary gears rotate on needle bearings. When the starter is turned on, the voltage from the battery through the switch (lock) ignition is supplied to both windings of the starter traction relay (retracting 14 and holding 13). Under the action of the magnetic field of the windings, the armature 12 of the relay is drawn in and the lever 10 engages the gear 4 in engagement with the engine flywheel. After closing the contact bolts 20 of the plate 18, the pull-in winding is turned off, and the relay armature is held in the retracted state only by the holding winding. When the key is turned in the ignition switch to position «II» the holding winding is de-energized, and the armature returns to its original position under the action of the spring, disengaging the gear 4 with the lever 10 from the flywheel.
