Short circuit test «mass» ignition coil windings proceed as follows: connect one wire of an ohmmeter to the terminal «15» ignition coils (middle output of the ignition coil), and the other to the metal part of the ignition coil housing. If the ohmmeter shows infinity, then there is no short circuit and the circuit is working.
Check for an open circuit in the primary circuits of the ignition coil done like this: connect one wire of an ohmmeter to the output «1a», and the second wire to the output «1b». If the ohmmeter shows infinity, then there is an open in the circuit and the ignition coil is faulty.
Checking for an open circuit in the secondary windings of the ignition coil is as follows: connect one end of an ohmmeter to the high voltage output of the 1st cylinder, and the second to the high voltage output of the 4th cylinder. If the ohmmeter shows infinity, then there is an open in the circuit and the ignition coil is faulty. Carry out a similar check for the chain of the 2nd and 3rd cylinders.
Checking high voltage wires is performed as follows: connect the ohmmeter wires to the high-voltage wire terminals, the wire resistance should be less than 15,000 ohms. If the resistance is greater, then the high-voltage wire is faulty.
