1. Inside the car under the dashboard (operation for clarity is shown with the instrument panel removed) unscrew the nut securing the clutch release cable sheath stop to the pedal bracket...
2.... and remove the stop from the stud.
3. Using a screwdriver, remove the locking clip from the clutch pedal finger...
4.... and the body of the mechanism for compensating for the wear of the lining of the clutch disc.
5. Remove the plastic sleeve from the clutch pedal finger and inspect it. Replace a heavily worn or damaged clutch pedal bushing by lubricating it with Litol-24 or LSTs-15 grease before installation.
6. In the engine compartment, remove the rubber seal of the clutch release cable from the hole in the bulkhead.
7. Pulling the tip of the clutch release cable forward in the direction of vehicle travel, remove the tip from the groove of the clutch release fork.
8. Unscrew the leash from the tip of the clutch release cable...
9.... remove the clutch cable sheath guide bushing from the hole in the gearbox bracket and remove the clutch cable from the vehicle by pulling it out of the hole in the front end shield.
10. To install a new clutch release cable, first, passing it through the hole in the bulkhead, fasten the wear compensation mechanism housing to the clutch pedal pin (see paragraphs. 3 and 4).
11. Attach the clutch cable sheath stopper to the pedal bracket stud (see paragraphs. 1 and 2).
12. Install the clutch cable sheath seal in the hole in the bulkhead shield (see point 6).
13. Pass the clutch cable into the bracket hole on the gearbox and install the cable sheath guide bushing into this hole (see point 9).
14. Screw the leash onto the lower end of the clutch cable (see point 8), ensuring the protrusion of the tip relative to the end of the leash by 0-1 mm.
15. Set the clutch cable to its original position, for which, overcoming the force of the mechanism spring, move the lower tip of the clutch cable to the stop forward in the direction of the vehicle. While holding the tip extended, measure the size L between the clutch fork and the leash, it should be 27 mm. If the size does not match the specified value, set it by rotating the leash in the desired direction.
16. Insert the tip of the clutch cable into the groove of the clutch fork and release. Under the action of the spring, the tip leash should be installed on the clutch fork without a gap.
17. Press the clutch pedal three times to the stop and re-measure the distance L (see point 15). Repeat clutch adjustment if necessary.
