The key in the ignition lock can occupy the following positions:
ABOUT («turned off») - with this position of the ignition key, the following consumers can be switched on: outdoor lighting, front fog lights, high beam alarm, emergency alarm, cigarette lighter and audio system. When the key is removed, the steering shaft is blocked (to lock it, you must turn the steering wheel until the locking rod engages). To unlock the steering shaft, insert the key into the ignition lock and, slightly turning the steering wheel left and right, move the key to position I.
Attention! Do not turn off the engine or remove the key from the ignition while the vehicle is moving, as this will lock the steering wheel and cause loss of control.
I («ignition») - the electrical circuits of all consumers are turned on, except for the starter. The key is not removed.
Warning! When the engine is not running, do not leave the key in the position/for a long time: this may lead to the discharge of the battery.
Recommendation. Before starting the engine (by turning the key to position II) pause for a few seconds (especially after a long stop): this will allow the electric fuel pump to create the necessary pressure in the fuel rail and make it easier to start the engine.
II («starter») - the electrical circuits of all consumers are turned on to start the engine. After starting the engine, the key must be released - it will automatically return to position I.
Switch (lock) ignition has a lock that does not allow the starter to turn on when the engine is running. To restart the engine after an unsuccessful attempt, the key in the switch must first be turned to position 0, and then try again. The car is equipped with an electronic anti-theft system APS-6 - immobilizer. The immobilizer sensor is installed in the ignition switch. The immobilizer control lamp is installed in the instrument panel, and a buzzer is built into the control unit to give sound signals. Chips are built into the ignition keys, from which the immobilizer sensor reads codes that remove the prohibition to start the engine.
The car is equipped with two keys: working and training. The working key is designed for everyday use. The learning key is designed to activate the immobilizer and remote control system, as well as to start the engine in case of loss or malfunction of the working key. When the ignition is turned off with the learning key, the immobilizer control lamp starts flashing.
Keys supplied with the car:
1 - plate with key cipher number;
2 - immobilizer learning key;
3 - immobilizer working key.
Warning!
- Key with red (teaching) insert allows you to unlock the anti-theft system and encode a spare working key. Therefore, this key should be stored in a place that excludes access to it by unauthorized persons.
- To ensure stable reading of the ignition key code when starting the engine, it is not recommended to mount two or more ignition keys on one ring.
The remote control for the central lock and the standard security system of the car is built into the handle of the working key.
Recommendation. If the remote control malfunctions, check the serviceability and, if necessary, replace its battery (see «Remote Control - Replacing the Battery»).
The manufacturer sells cars with the anti-theft system not activated. In the non-activated state, the immobilizer allows you to start the engine without reading the code from the ignition key. In this case, after the ignition is switched on, the immobilizer control lamp will light up for 15 seconds. In the activated state, starting the engine is possible only after the immobilizer sensor reads «correct» ignition key code.
The immobilizer must be activated when the car is sold at pre-sale preparation points in the presence of the owner. After activating the system, the learning key becomes for the immobilizer «their» and other procedures (learning or relearning a spare key, etc.) possible only with this key.
After replacing the immobilizer control units and the engine management system, it is necessary to reactivate the system (see «Immobilizer activation»).
