Removing
Set the car to a working post and brake with a parking brake.
Lock the airbag computer using the scan tool.
Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire terminal "masses" from the battery.
Remove driver airbag module (MNPBV).
Set the front wheels to a straight ahead position.
Remove steering wheel.
Unscrew the two screws securing the steering column covers and, having overcome the force of the clamps, remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
Remove the block of steering column switches with a rotating device.
Remove the transponder take-up coil and ignition switch.

Disconnect holder 1, Figure 6-1, instrument panel wiring harness from steering column bracket 2 (flat screwdriver).
Remove instrument panel.

Unscrew the nut 2, Figure 6-2, of the bolt for fastening the joint yoke 1 of the intermediate shaft of the steering column to the shaft 4 of the steering gear, remove the bolt 3 and disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear shaft (wrench 13).

Unscrew four bolts 2, Figure 6-3, fastening the steering column to the cross member bracket 3 of the instrument panel and remove the steering column 1 (interchangeable head 13, extension and collar).
Installation
Attention. Reuse of the bolt and nut of the steering column intermediate shaft joint yoke to the steering gear shaft is not allowed. The bolt and nut must be replaced.
Attention. Do not reuse the screw that secures the ignition switch to the steering column. The screw must be replaced.
Attention. Reuse of the steering wheel bolt to the steering shaft is not allowed. The bolt must be replaced.
Install the steering column in place and secure it with four bolts to the instrument panel cross member bracket. Bolt tightening torque 21 Nm (2.1 kgf·m) (interchangeable head 13, extension and knob, torque wrench).
Install the steering column intermediate shaft pivot yoke onto the steering gear shaft and secure with a new bolt and nut. Nut tightening torque 21 Nm (2.1 kgf·m) (interchangeable head 13, ratchet wrench, torque wrench).
Install the instrument panel.
Attach the instrument panel wire harness holder to the steering column bracket (flat screwdriver).
Install the transponder receiver coil and ignition switch.
Install the steering column switch block with a rotating device.
Install the upper and lower steering column covers and secure with two screws.
Install steering wheel.
Install driver airbag module (MNPBV).
Connect wire terminal "masses" to the battery and turn on the ignition.
Unlock the airbag computer using the scan tool.
Check the operation of the steering column switches.
Check the operation of the rotating device, for which:
- turn the steering wheel to the extreme left position;
- turn the steering wheel to the extreme right position;
- return the steering wheel to the center position;
- make sure that there is no error message displayed on the instrument cluster.
