Note. For Largus Cross modifications, the suspension struts differ from the usual Universal. This must be taken into account when choosing spare parts. The body and shock absorber rod on the Cross modification are longer, and the cup is welded to the body 30 mm higher.
At the factory, Monroe shock absorbers are installed on all modifications.
Removing
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift, apply the parking brake and turn off the ignition.
Remove front wheel.
Unlock steering wheel.

Remove the front wheel speed sensor harness from the holder 6, Figure 4-1, on the front suspension strut.
Unscrew the bolt 7 fastening the holder of the speed sensor wiring harness to the front suspension strut and remove the holder 6 (interchangeable head 10, ratchet wrench).
Disconnect the front brake assembly from the steering knuckle and attach it to the lower front suspension arm.
Unscrew two nuts 1 of the bolts securing the steering knuckle to the front suspension strut, remove the bots and disconnect the strut 5 from the steering knuckle (wrench 18, interchangeable head 18, knob).
Attach the steering knuckle to the car body.
Unscrew the nut 3 fastening the rod 4 of the front suspension strut to the car body (ring key 21, hexagon angle 6).
Remove upper cup 2 of front suspension strut.
Remove pillar 5 of the front suspension.
Install the front suspension strut in the strut disassembly tool, compress the spring until the extreme coils of the spring move away from the strut support cups and unscrew the nut 5, Figure 4-2, fastening the upper strut support (device for disassembling racks KTO 1-22 (PCF "TEP" Irkutsk) or spring compressor type 12625 code 96 71 06 00 f. "Stahlwille", ring key 27, hexagon angle 6).

Remove the upper support 6, the bearing 7 of the upper support and the upper support cup 8 of the spring from the rack 1 of the front suspension.
Unload and remove spring 2 and buffer 9 of the compression stroke from the rack.
Installation
Attention. Check the condition of the front suspension strut parts and replace if necessary.
Attention. The fasteners listed below must be replaced:
- nut of fastening of the top support of a rack;
- nut for fastening the rod of the front suspension strut to the car body;
- nuts of bolts of fastening of a rotary fist to a rack of a forward suspension bracket.
Attention. When assembling the front suspension strut, control the position of the extreme coils of the spring relative to the profile of the support cups. The spring should be located in the grooves of the support cups as shown in Figure 4-3.

Install the buffer 9 of the compression stroke and the spring on the rack 1 of the front suspension.
Compress spring 2 (device for disassembling racks KTO 1-22 (PCF "TEP" Irkutsk) or spring compressor type 12625 code 96 71 06 00 f. "Stahlwille").
Install the upper support cup 8 of the spring, the bearing 7, the upper support 6 on the rack and tighten the nut 5. The tightening torque of the nut is 62 Nm (6.2 kgf·m) (angular hexagon 6, ring key 27, interchangeable insert 27 type 58 22 40 27 f. "Stahlwille", torque wrench type 50 18 00 12 f. "Stahlwille").
Unload the spring.
Install the front suspension strut on the car, install the upper cup 4 of the strut and screw the nut 3 onto the strut rod. The tightening torque of the nut is 44 Nm (4.4 kgf·m) (angular hexagon 6, ring key 21, interchangeable insert 21 type 58 22 40 21 f. "Stahlwille", torque wrench type 50 18 00 12 f. "Stahlwille").
Connect the rack to the steering knuckle, insert the mounting bolts and tighten the nuts. Nut tightening torque 105 Nm (10.5 kgf·m) (wrench 18, interchangeable head 18, knob, torque wrench).
Install the front brake assembly to the steering knuckle.
Install the speed sensor harness holder to the front drain and secure with the bolt (interchangeable head 10, ratchet wrench).
Install the speed sensor harness to the holder on the front suspension strut.
Install the front wheel.
Press the brake pedal 2-3 times to set the pistons of the wheel brake cylinders to the working position.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the alignment of the front wheels.
