Note. Pillow part number see here.
Disconnect the terminal "minus" from the battery. Wait 10 minutes for the airbag activator capacitor to discharge.
Warning! Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting its power supply may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
The airbag module is attached to the steering wheel with two hooks,...
... which are held by spring clips on the handlebars
View from the dashboard side: this is what the steering wheel looks like with the airbag module fixed in it...
1 - hooks of the airbag module; 2 - spring clamps of the steering wheel
Compress the airbag module mounting springs while inserting the pins (you can use screwdrivers) into two holes located on the sides of the steering wheel...
The task is to press the spring retainer (shown with cushion removed).
Simultaneously (I would like an assistant to do this) you need to pull the airbag module towards you with your hands. Remove from the connection with the clamps and take the pillow to the side as far as the wiring allows. (work can be done alone if you press and disengage the latches and pull the pillow module alternately on each side)
Pry up and lift up the latch.
Pry with a screwdriver and disconnect the airbag wiring harness.
Remove the driver's airbags completely. The module must be stored upside down.
Attention! Do not disassemble or repair the airbag yourself.
The module is installed in the reverse order.
