Removal and installation of the computer (ECU)

Electronic control unit - ECU (aka the ECM) installed in the engine compartment, on the bracket behind the battery. (Description of the device and operation of the computer)

Note. do not confuse this block with CECBS

Removing

Place the car in the workplace, brake with the parking brake, turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire terminal "masses" from the battery.

Unscrew the fastening bolt, disconnect the bracket 1, Figure 11-17, and take it aside (interchangeable head 10, extension, crank).



Disconnect the harness connector 2 from the ECM 3.


Remove nuts 4 and remove the ECM (interchangeable head 10, extension, crank).

Installation

Mount controller 3, Figure 11-17, ECM to vehicle, install and tighten nuts 4. Nut tightening torque 8 Nm (0.8 kgf·m) (interchangeable head 10, extension, knob, torque wrench).

Connect connector 2 of the wiring harness to the ECM.

Install bracket 1, install and tighten the bracket bolt (interchangeable head 10, extension, crank).

Attach wire terminal "masses" to the battery.
