1. Disconnect with a screwdriver or bite the lock of the large collar of the outer boot...
2.... and remove the clamp.
Clamps for fastening the anthers of CV joints are disposable. As a rule, clamps are included in the kit of a new hinge.
3. Slide the boot off the hinge housing...
4.... and knock the hinge cage off the shaft with a hammer through the beard, overcoming the force of the retaining ring.
5. Remove the outer CV joint from the shaft.
Disassembly of the outer CV joint is not allowed.
6. Remove the circlip from the shaft by prying it out of the shaft groove with a screwdriver.
When assembling, replace the circlip with a new one. As a rule, the ring is included in the kit of the new hinge.
7. Disconnect with a screwdriver or bite the lock of the small collar of the outer anther...
8.... and remove the clamp.
9. Remove the thrust washer.
10. Remove the boot.
11. Wash all metal parts with kerosene until the old grease is completely removed.
When installing a new CV joint, replace the boot with a new one. Usually duster is included.
In order not to damage the boot during assembly, wrap the splined part of the shaft with tape.
To facilitate the installation of the boot on the shaft, lubricate the shaft with a thin layer of grease designed to fill the CV joint.
12. Before installing a new outer CV joint, fill its cavity with grease (if the hinge has not been lubricated by the manufacturer) in an amount of about 100 g, and put 40 g in the hinge, and the rest of the grease in the boot.
Do not reduce or increase the recommended amount of grease in the joint.
13. Establish anther and SHRUS in an order, the return to removal. When installing the hinge on the shaft, press the hinge with hammer blows on the hinge shank through a soft metal drift or with a rubber hammer until the hinge cage is fixed with the retaining ring.
Before installing the large clamp, use a screwdriver to pry off the edge of the boot to equalize the air pressure inside and outside the boot.
