Note. It is necessary to remove the rear axle with assistants who will hold and lower the rear suspension beam.
Note. If, after removing the beam, it is supposed to be disassembled, first loosen the wheel bolts and hub nuts.
Replacing worn rubber-to-metal joints of the rear suspension beam arms requires special tools and skill, so it is recommended that the joints be replaced by a specialist workshop.
Attention! Loosen and tighten the wheel bolts only with the vehicle on the ground. Bolt tightening torque 65–95 Nm (6.5–9.5 kgf·m).
You will need: key «at 15», two keys «at 19», special key «on 10» for loosening the brake pipe nuts.
1. Remove the rear shock absorbers from both sides of the car (see «Rear shock absorber and spring replacement»).
2. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the equalizer, remove the sheaths of both cables from the bracket on the body, bend two brackets for attaching each cable to the body and remove both cables from the rear suspension beam mounting brackets, for easy access to the beam mounting bolt (see «Replacing the parking brake cable»).
3. Disconnect the earring of the elastic lever of the pressure regulator drive from the bracket on the rear suspension beam (see «Removal and installation of the pressure regulator»).
4. Disconnect one brake hose on both sides from the tubes on the rear suspension beam. Plug the hose openings.
5. Turn away from both sides on one nut of bolts of fastening of a beam to arms, knock out bolts and remove a beam, having rolled out it on wheels from under the car.
Note. The manufacturer recommends removing the beam together with the brackets by unscrewing three nuts of their fastening. However, after prolonged use, rusted studs can break. Therefore, it is better to remove the beam by disconnecting it from the brackets that will remain on the body.
6. Establish a beam of a back suspension bracket in an order, the return to removal.
Finally tighten the beam bolt nuts with the vehicle on the ground. After installation, bleed the brake system and adjust the parking brake.
