- the anti-theft function will be activated in the engine management ECU, if it has not already been activated;
- the system will change its password to a new one chosen at random;
- a new system password will be written to the learning key;
- information about all previously trained working keys will be erased from memory;
- the codes of those working keys that were trained in this training procedure will be stored in memory.
The immobilizer training procedure is used in the following cases:
- to activate the anti-theft function in the ECU (e.g. on a new car or when replacing a defective ECU);
- in case of loss of working keys to erase information about old working keys and to learn new ones;
- to change the system password if the owner suspects that the password may have been read (for example, when selling a car from one owner to another);
- when replacing a faulty immobilizer with a new one for learning working keys.
Note. The system provides for learning only two working keys. You can only train new working keys (those. those that have not been trained by another immobilizer) or those that have previously been trained using the learning key used in this learning procedure. Working keys can only be taught in conjunction with an ECU in which the anti-theft function is not activated, or with an ECU that has been taught in conjunction with the learning key used in this learning procedure.
To learn the immobilizer key, do the following.
1. Close all vehicle doors. Turn on the ignition with the learning key and wait at least 6 s.
2. Turn off the ignition. The control lamp should start flashing at an increased frequency (5 times per second) as long as the learning procedure is performed correctly. If the lamp stops flashing rapidly, it indicates an incorrect operation, the time allowed for the learning procedure has been exceeded, or a malfunction. Remove the learning key from the ignition.
3. While the indicator lamp is flashing (about 6 s), insert the working key into the lock and turn on the ignition. If done correctly, the buzzer will beep three times when the ignition is turned on.
4. Wait with the ignition on (about 6 s), when the buzzer beeps twice more. If after 6 seconds there are no beeps, and the rapid flashing of the control lamp stops, turn off the ignition and start the procedure again. If you fail to complete the learning procedure again, it means that a malfunction has occurred or this working key has already been trained by another immobilizer.
5. Turn off the ignition.
Note. If it is necessary to learn a second working key, perform steps 3-5 again, including ignition with the second learning working key. If this is not necessary, continue with the learning procedure.
6. While the indicator lamp is flashing (about 6 s) remove the trained working key from the ignition, insert the learning key into the lock again and turn on the ignition. If done correctly, the buzzer will beep three times when the ignition is turned on.
7. Wait with the ignition on (about 6 s) buzzer sounds two more beeps.
8. Turn off the ignition, but do not remove the learning key from the ignition. Approximately 6 seconds after the ignition is turned off, the buzzer should give one sound signal, and the control lamp should start flashing at a double frequency.
Note. If the buzzer did not sound, and the fast flashing of the lamp stopped, then you must turn off the ignition and start the learning procedure again. If it is not possible to complete the learning procedure again, then a malfunction has occurred or this learning key does not fit this computer.
9. Not later than 6 s after the sound signal (while the lamp flashes quickly) turn on the ignition with the same learning key. After waiting 2-3 seconds, turn off the ignition. Not later than 5 s after turning off the ignition, the buzzer should give three signals, and the rapid flashing of the control lamp should stop. Do not turn on the ignition for at least another 10 s.
Note. When working with some controllers, the lamp stops flashing and the buzzer sounds three signals already when the ignition is turned on. In this case, you should still turn off the ignition and wait at least 10 seconds.
At the end of the learning procedure, it may be necessary to re-synchronize the immobilizer and ECU codes, since after the learning procedure is completed, the ECU may not allow the engine to be started when the ignition is first turned on. To re-synchronize the codes, turn on the ignition with any trained key (preferably workers). Pause for 6 s. If the control lamp of the immobilizer began to indicate an erroneous state of the system (blink once per second), switch off the ignition and wait at least 10 s. Then turn the ignition back on. The lamp should not flash, and the engine should start running.
If 3 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the control lamp is constantly on, it means that the anti-theft function of the computer is not activated and the learning procedure should be repeated again.
