Location of relays and fuses in the mounting block: 1, 2 - tweezers; K1 - relay for turning on the electric fan of the radiator of the engine cooling system; K2 - relay for turning on the rear window heating; K3 - starter enable relay; K4 - additional relay (ignition relay); K5 - place for a backup relay; K6 - relay for turning on the washer and windshield wiper; K7 - high beam headlight relay; K8 - relay for turning on the sound signal; K9 - alarm relay; K10, K11, K12 - places for a backup relay; F1–F32 - fuses (circuits protected by pin-type fuses are shown in Table. 10.3)
Electrical devices that consume high current during operation are connected through relays that protect the contacts of the switches from burning.
To replace relays and pin fuses, special plastic tweezers 1 and 2 are provided in the mounting block (see photo).
1. Rotate the three locks on the fuse and relay box cover by 90°...
2.... and, overcoming the resistance of the latches, remove the cover.
3. Hook the fuse with tweezers and remove it from the connector.
4. Install a fuse of the same rating as the removed one into the connector.
Note. Small relays in the mounting block can also be removed with fuse tweezers. The remaining relays will have to be removed by hand, since the design of the tweezers for the relay located in the mounting block provides for the presence of ribs on the side surfaces of the relay, but there are no such relays in this mounting block.
5. Install the relay of the same type as the one removed.
Note. Fuses of different ratings are painted in different colors. In addition, the fuse is marked with a numerical value for the current for which it is designed (denomination).
