To gain access to the engine compartment, pull the hood latch handle towards you.
Then lift the hood and press the tab of the safety hook through the gap formed (for clarity, the hook is shown on the ajar hood).
Raise the hood and, having released the hood stop from the holder..
... set the stop in a special socket on the right fender of the car.
