Pic. 1.7. instrument cluster
The arrangement of devices and signaling devices in a combination of devices is shown in fig. 1.7.
The following instruments and warning devices are installed in the instrument cluster.
1 - tachometer. Shows the engine speed. The scale has divisions from 0 to 7, the division price is 0.5. In order to find out the crankshaft speed in min-1, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 1000. The red scale zone is a dangerous operating mode for the engine. Do not exceed the maximum permitted engine speed (threshold - 6000 min-1).
2 – a control lamp of inclusion of the left index of turn (with a green color filter in the form of an arrow) lights up with a flashing light when the left turn signal is turned on (in sync with it). The blinking of the control lamp with a double frequency indicates a lamp burnout in any direction indicator.
3 - induction type speedometer Shows how fast the car is currently moving. The scale is graduated from 0 to 200 km/h, the division value is 10 km/h. The speedometer drive is electric from a sensor mounted on the gearbox housing.
4 – a control lamp of inclusion of the right index of turn (see point 2).
5 - liquid temperature gauge in the engine cooling system. If the pointer arrow enters the red zone (more than 115°С), which means the engine is overheating, then a constant (within 5 s) sound signal. It will repeat until the arrow leaves the red zone (less than 110°С). If the arrow is in the red zone, you should stop, let the engine cool down and eliminate the cause of overheating.
Attention! Do not operate the vehicle with an overheated engine, as this will cause serious engine damage.
6 - fuel gauge. The transition of the arrow to the red zone of the scale indicates the need for refueling in order to avoid interruptions in the operation of the engine.
7 - signal lamp of the reserve balance fuel. Lights up in orange when the vehicle needs to be refueled to avoid engine interruptions. At the same time as the signal lamp comes on, an intermittent (2 repeated switching on / off with a duration of 0.25 s) sound signal.
Warning! Never run out of fuel. This can damage the fuel pump and cause an accident due to your vehicle stopping on the road.
8 - button for resetting the daily mileage counter and switching the operating modes of the liquid crystal display of the trip computer. By pressing the button while the car is stationary, the daily mileage counter in the liquid crystal display is set to zero or the daily or total mileage display mode is selected.
9 – a control lamp of inclusion of the alarm system (with red light filter). Lights up with a flashing light when the alarm is activated.
10 – a control lamp of the electroamplifier of a steering (connected if the vehicle is equipped with electric power steering). Lights up in orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.
Attention! If the power steering warning light comes on with the engine running, it indicates a problem with the power steering that needs to be repaired. Operating a vehicle with faulty steering is life threatening.
11 – a control lamp of inclusion of a high beam of headlights (with blue filter) indicates that the headlights are on.
12 – a control lamp of inclusion of external illumination (with green filter) indicates the inclusion of side lights in the headlights and taillights.
13 – a control lamp of inclusion of a parking brake (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is on, if the car is braked by the parking brake.
14 - warning light for airbags (connected if the car is equipped with airbags). Lights up in orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.
Warning! If the signal lamp lights up in all other cases, contact the service immediately. In addition to the possible failure in an emergency, it can suddenly work while driving, which will lead to serious consequences.
15 - signal lamp for emergency oil pressure drop (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is switched on and warns that the pressure in the engine lubrication system is below normal.
When the engine is running, a lit signal lamp and a constant (within 5 s) the buzzer signal indicates insufficient pressure in the engine lubrication system.
Attention! Operating a vehicle with a faulty lubrication system can cause serious engine damage.
16 - immobilizer control lamp. Lights up in orange and displays the status of the immobilizer, for details, see «Control of the electronic anti-theft system»).
17 - liquid crystal display. The top line displays the total or daily mileage, while the bottom line displays the time, outside temperature or on-board computer functions.
18 - a signal lamp of an unfastened seat belt of the driver (can be connected as a variant). Lights up red when the ignition is switched on, if the driver's seat belt is not fastened. Simultaneously with the ignition of the lamp, an intermittent sound is heard (5 repeat cycles) buzzer signal.
19 - battery discharge warning light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on. The burning of the lamp is accompanied by intermittent (5 repeated on / off for 0.5 s) buzzer signal. Immediately after starting the engine, the lamp should go out. The lamp burning or glowing half-heartedly with the engine running indicates a lack of charging current caused by a malfunction of the generator or voltage regulator, or weak tension (cliff) generator drive belt.
Attention! It is forbidden to drive a car with a burning lamp, since, in addition to a complete discharge of the battery, this may indicate a short circuit in the charging circuit, which is fraught with fire.
20 – a signal lamp of an emergency condition of brake system (with red light filter). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after starting the engine. Ignition of a lamp of an emergency condition of a brake system and signal of a buzzer (5 restarts) when the engine is running, they indicate a drop in the brake fluid level below the mark «MIN» on the brake master cylinder reservoir.
Attention! The operation of a vehicle with a faulty brake system is prohibited.
21 – a signal lamp of the disconnected pillow of safety of the forward passenger (connected as a variant).
22 - signal lamp for a malfunction of the electronic brake force distributor (connected as a variant). The lamp lights up red when the ignition is turned on and goes out after 2 seconds (self test mode).
23 – a signal lamp of antiblocking system of brakes (connected in the variant if the vehicle is equipped with an anti-lock braking system). The lamp lights up red when the ignition is turned on and goes out after 2 seconds (self test mode). If the lamp stays on while the engine is running, it indicates a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system.
Attention! In all other cases, when the anti-lock brake system warning light comes on, it indicates a malfunction that must be repaired at a specialized service station, since braking occurs without the participation of ABS.
24 - signal lamp «CHECK ENGINE». Lights up in orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.
Note. Burning signal lamp «CHECK ENGINE» when the engine is running due to a malfunction of the engine control system (fuel injection systems). This does not mean that the engine must be stopped immediately, as in this case the engine management system switches to emergency modes, allowing the engine to operate in conditions close to normal. However, the cause of the malfunction must be eliminated as soon as possible, because prolonged operation of the car with a burning lamp can lead to an increase in fuel consumption, deterioration in traction characteristics of the car and engine breakdowns.
