In the engine compartment, the car numbers are located in the following places: 1 - identification number of the body; 2 - identification plate; 3 - model and engine number.
An identification number (VIN) vehicle, engine model, manufacturer's name, year of manufacture and certification information are indicated on the identification plate (pic. 1.5).

Deciphering the identification number, for example, HTA21703070005783:
- HTA - manufacturer's index;
- 217030 - Car model;
- 7 - model year code of the car (tab. 1.2);
- 0005783 - body number.

Note. A model year is a period equal to the average calendar year during which cars with the same design features are produced.
Model and engine number stamped on the end face of the cylinder block (above the clutch housing). You can read the number using a mirror.
