1. Remove the decorative engine cover (see «Removal and installation of a decorative casing of the engine»).
2. Remove the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
3. Disconnect the intake pipe of the additional muffler from the collector, for which unscrew the nuts securing the exhaust pipe flange to the collector flange and remove the exhaust pipe flange from the studs of the collector flange (see «Replacing the additional muffler»).
4. Remove the air filter (see «Removal and installation of the air filter»).
5. Remove the air supply sleeve and three hoses of the crankcase ventilation system (see «Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system»).
6. Disconnect the four blocks of the wiring harness of the ignition modules and take the harness to the side. Remove ignition modules (see «Removal and installation of ignition coils»).
7. Remove the throttle assembly (see «Removal and installation of the throttle assembly»).
8. Remove intake manifold (see «Replacing the cylinder head cover gasket»).
9. Disconnect from the engine harness the wiring harness blocks of the control and diagnostic oxygen concentration sensors..
10.... and disconnect from the heat-insulating shield of the steering mechanism the holders of the wiring harnesses for the control and diagnostic oxygen concentration sensors.
11. Turn away three nuts of fastening of a thermal insulating guard of the steering mechanism to a motor board and remove a guard.
12. Unscrew the two nuts securing the bracket of the water pump inlet pipe, unscrew the bolts securing the collector to its bracket, unscrew the eight nuts securing the collector to the cylinder head and remove the collector. Disconnection of the collector from the cylinder head and its troubleshooting are described in detail in the subsection «Replacing the gasket of the collector».
13. Remove the gasket of the collector from the studs of the head of the block.
Attention! Be sure to replace the sealing gasket of the collector and the inlet pipe with a new one every time the connection is disassembled.
14. Clean the flanges of the head of the block and the collector from the remnants of the old gasket and soot.
15. Remove both oxygen sensors from the manifold and install them on the new manifold.
16. Install the collector and all removed parts and assemblies in the reverse order of removal.
Note. In order to avoid sticking of the gasket and to increase its tightness, we recommend lubricating the gasket on both sides with a thin layer of graphite grease before installation.
Note. Lubricate the exhaust manifold mounting studs with graphite grease.
