Lubrication of hinges and locks
To prevent wear of parts of locks, hinges and opening stops, it is necessary to periodically (e.g. twice a year: in autumn and spring) lubricate them. It is very convenient to use grease in an aerosol package for these purposes.
1. Having opened the door, we inject lubricant into the lock mechanism.
2. Inject grease into the door hinge hinges.
3. Apply grease to the door opening limiter and to the hinge of the lower hinge.
4. Similarly, we lubricate the mechanisms of the remaining doors.
5. Inject grease into the switch (larva) trunk lid lock.
6. Open the hood and inject grease into the hood latch mechanism.
7. Lubricate the hood hinges.
8. Open the tailgate and inject grease into its lock.
9. Lubricate the tailgate hinge axles.
Processing door seals
To prevent freezing of doors in the winter and extend the life of rubber seals, we apply on the external and internal seals of doorways...
...as well as silicone grease on the glass guides.
Open the trunk lid and apply silicone grease to its seal.
Cleaning drainage holes
At the bottom of the doors and sills of the car, special drainage holes are made to drain water from the cavities of the car.
Inside the doors, water enters through the gap between the seal and the side glass. Over time, the drain holes can become clogged with dirt, preventing water from escaping and can lead to severe corrosion on the underside of the doors.
Warning! Perform the operation carefully so as not to damage the paintwork of the body.
1. Slotted screwdriver with a thin blade, a piece of hard wire with a small section (1-3 mm) or other similar device, we clean the drainage holes in the front and rear doors, covered with rubber pads...
...and in the thresholds of the car.
