The instrument panel displays all the basic information about the mode of operation and the condition of the car. On the instrument panel are a tachometer, speedometer, information display, fuel pressure gauges in the tank and coolant temperature, warning lamps for malfunctions and turning on vehicle systems. When the ignition is switched on, the vehicle systems are diagnosed. The lamps then light up and go out after a few seconds or after starting the engine. If the malfunction indicator lamp goes out or comes on while the engine is running, the vehicle's system may be malfunctioning. In this case, it is necessary to check the system and, if necessary, correct the malfunction.
