Polishing a car body is not as easy as it might seem. This section discusses the methods of polishing the body with non-professional tools designed for the amateur level. Such tools allow you to get a fairly fast good result, but do not require special skills. You should not expect miracles: if there are strong chips, deep scratches on the surface of the body, then it is better to contact a specialized workshop to eliminate them.
Before polishing, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and wash the body (see above).
Execution sequence
Recommendation. Before starting work, read the instructions that came with the polish.
If the car is not new, then its paintwork must be prepared: cleaned of oxides and removed minor scratches before applying a protective polish. To do this, use a polish to remove scratches.
1. We apply it on a special applicator.
2. Evenly, without strong pressure, apply the polish on the car body in a circular motion. Let the polish dry for a few minutes until a white matte coating appears.
Recommendation. Do not immediately apply polish to the entire body, process element by element.
3. Using special polishing cloths, polish the surface in a circular motion until the applied polish is completely worn out and the surface shines.
4. Next, you need to apply a protective polish. There are many protective polishes, but their functions and methods of application are the same. Therefore, choose the one that you personally like more. On our own, we only add that if the paintwork is not new, burned out or has small chips, it is better to use a protective polish with a color pigment that matches the color of the car.
We apply a protective polish on a special napkin and evenly, without strong pressure, apply it in a circular motion to the car body. Let the polish dry for a few minutes until a white coating appears.
5. In a circular motion, polish the surface until a deep gloss of the surface appears.
