Recommendation. The operation to replace the pump requires experience and accuracy (fuel module elements can be damaged), therefore, in the event of a malfunction of the fuel pump, it is recommended to replace the fuel module assembly.
A hair dryer is required to complete the job (technical) or hot water.
Removing
1. Remove the fuel module (see «Fuel module - removal and installation»).
2. Remove the pump from the intake chamber of the fuel module (see above).
Warning! The strainer is held by a locking spring washer on the cylindrical boss of the fuel pump.
3. Remove the strainer from the branch pipe of the electric fuel pump. At the same time, we help with a slotted screwdriver with a thin blade, gently shifting the lock washer along the pump inlet.
4. Having pressed the latch, we take out the fuel pump from the holder.
5. Prying with a screwdriver, remove the tube clamp on the pipe of the electric fuel pump.
6. With a hair dryer, heat up the end of the corrugated tube, put on the branch pipe of the electric fuel pump.
Warning! Monitor the temperature of the heated parts, do not overheat the pump and tube.
7. Remove the corrugated tube from the pump nozzle.
Installation
Install the fuel module in reverse order.
At the same time, putting on the strainer, use a slotted screwdriver with a wide blade to press the spring washer of the filter onto the pump ledge.
